The Pulmonary Research Group (PRG) at the University of Alberta is a multi-disciplinary group composed of 36 full members, 15 trainee members, and 2 associate members who pursue research interests in respiratory disease.

Our studies range from molecular laboratory-based investigations to health outcome measurements, related to disease prevalence and patient care.

The PRG has a strong basic science research program that promotes close collaborations and interactions with the clinical component of the group, which is mainly based in the Divisions of Pulmonary Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Alberta Hospital.

The goal of the PRG is to promote and advance novel applied translational studies that bring together basic and clinical scientists in a highly integrated manner, towards hypothesis-driven and thematically-based research.
